October symbolises Black History Month and we will celebrate this in our academy in a number of ways; one of which is an assembly to all year groups where we will predominately focus on the achievements of black women who have made history.

In addition to the assemblies we will be having a Black History celebration party on Thursday 19th October at 6.30pm until 8.30pm. We will be celebrating black women inventors in science and dance/choreographers who have made history; there will be Caribbean and Nigerian food and refreshments served, as well as singing and guest speakers.

The party is open to parents/carers, staff, pupils and their siblings (brothers and sisters) only.
