Careers and Employability

"All pupils receive high-quality careers advice and guidance. They are well informed about the different options available to them. The school’s ‘build employment experiences’ allow pupils to consider future option choices. For example, in key stage 4, pupils can gain practical experience of construction."

- Ofsted, December 2021

Nottingham Girls' Academy take the employability skills of our students very seriously. We are consistently updating and evaluating our careers provision to ensure our pupils are prepared for the world of work and allow them to make the best steps for them. We use BEE (Build Employability Experience) Moments to ensure that careers are embedded across our curriculum.

Our careers and employability programme gives students opportunities to develop essential skills, ensuring that they are fully supported to make informed choices about the next stage in their education, employment or training. We use the Unifrog programme to ensure students have a strong resource to explore all of their future options.

Our aim for all of our young people is that they go on to lead happy, successful and fulfilling careers in the future. We therefore consider all the elements of the Careers Development Institute framework which outlines the elements needed for a positive career:

We are committed to ensuring our provision of careers and employability education meets the requirements of the Gatsby Benchmarks.

Our careers and employability strategy is reviewed at the end of every academic year using data collected from student and stakeholder feedback as well as a review of our post 16 and post 18 destination data.
